The Pinturama Campaign: A Proper Pictorial Prologue

The Pinturama System, located on the edge of the Ultima Segmentum along the frontier of the Eastern Fringe, entails 23 separate planets orbiting a single massive star. It is dominated by the fluid-giant designated Pinturama Prima. A kaleidoscopic world of swirling elemental eddies and prismatic atmospheric storms, Pinturama is orbited by two habitable moons, Sena'goso and Luna Seta. Long before the system was settled by Imperial pioneers, the "Flotsam Ring" of asteroids and wreckage orbited above the planet's equator. It is theorized that the debris ring is a result of the destruction of several moons and a sizable xeno fleet of unknown origin.

Currently a band of piratical Orks, Ozimof's Kollektaz, ply their trade from hundreds of small bases located in the Flotsam Ring. Led by a group of mysterious Big Meks, the growing warband protects the grot-minaz and konstruktin boyz that work in the orbiting rocks and debris field building Gork-knows-what for Mork-knows-what purposes.

For several generations an imperial outpost has operated on the agrimoon of Luna Seta, based in the capital-fortress of Stinkhorn. Luna Seta is honeycombed by vast underground caverns populated by quasi-sentient ambulatory mushrooms. These "myconids", highly nutritious to humans, are herded into vast underground rendering plants in order to be exported to nearby Imperial worlds as "Adeptus Deliciosos Protein Patties".

Sena'goso is the bright green counterpart to Luna Seta's drab rocky facade. Quietly infiltrated two years ago by Tau from the Red Star and Marshy Dog cadres, the verdant moon is covered in a thick, poisonous haze that conceals its sweltering, irriguous surface.  The Tau regularly launch raids onto Luna Seta in order to plunder the myconid renderatorums and disrupt outbound freighters loaded with foodstuff. They have also attacked the Flotsam Ring several times, launching lightning quick sorties in order to destroy Ork faktoreez before returning to their bases in the acidic, swampy lowlands of Sena'goso's southern pole. There is little doubt with the Imperial rulers of Luna Seta that the Tau are mustering for a larger, more decisive incursion.

Unfortunately for them, the Tau forces operating on Sena'goso have attracted the attention of a detachment of a Raven Guard Space Marines that have recently landed in Stinkhorn at the behest of the local Administratum. The Eastern Fringe's supply of myconid-meat will not be interfered with....
